Please be informed that all public tissue donation appointments for our upcoming Super Cure Event on January 28th & 29th have been taken, and registration is now full. If you are a member of a group which has been issued a code, the deadline to register was Monday, Jan. 16th at 1:00 p.m. There are a few groups who, due to extenuating circumstances, were given an extension. If you are a member of one of those groups the system will allow you to complete registration. The Komen Tissue Bank staff wants to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support. Our next collection event in Indianpolis will be on March 10th.
The Komen Tissue Bank is the only repository in the world for normal breast tissue and matched serum, plasma and DNA. By studying normal tissue, we accelerate research for the causes and prevention of breast cancer. To more deeply understand the evolution of the disease, it is necessary to compare abnormal, cancerous tissue against normal, healthy tissue. We are committed to making a difference by acting as advocates for thinking, sharing and understanding NORMAL.
I came all the way from Kansas City because I promised my sister, TC, the night before she died (11/07) that I would never stop fighting for her and everyone else who has battled. I am so proud to be a part of this program.
